The student ministry at First Baptist is a place of growth, worship, discipleship, and fellowship. Our students live and learn alongside each other while diving into Scripture on Sundays and Wednesdays. If you are not already plugged in, we want you to be a part!
9:45 am in the Family Life Center
Studying God's Word is perhaps the most important part of our ministry. We provide age and gender-specific groups to do this on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am in the Family Life Center. Each group is led by an experienced teacher and students are encouraged to share and ask questions openly.
Sundays at 5:00 pm in host homes
Each Sunday at 5:00 pm students gather in host homes across the county based on their gender and age group. They each go through a Bible study led by two to three college students. This is one of the best times of the week where significant life change happens.
Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in the Family Life Center
Middle and high school worship takes place every Wednesday night at 6 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm for students to play in the gym and fellowship with their friends.

Ask me about:
1. Student Ministry
2. Contemporary Worship
I've served God's church in various roles, including senior pastor, youth pastor, and worship pastor. I came to FBC in September of 2015 to serve as a student pastor and oversee all 6th-12th grade ministries.
I received a B.S. degree from Murray State in 2007 and I'm currently working on my MDIV seminary degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
I'm married to my beautiful wife and best friend, Jamie. The Lord has blessed us with four wonderful daughters (Halle, Anna Grace, Nora, and Layla). It's my goal at FBC to teach students on how to reach their peers for Christ.
Youth Ministry Assistant
Ask me about:
1. Student Sunday School
I started attending First Baptist in the Fall of 2018; my first semester as a student at MSU. I began serving in the children’s ministry, and I have been serving as a Youth Ministry Intern since the Summer of 2019. It has been such a joy being able to build relationships with our youth and serve in our church in this capacity.
In August I married my husband, Austin, whom I met through mutual friends from the BCM. In May, I will graduate from MSU with a degree in Public and Community Health...finally! (Praise the Lord). These couple of months, I have learned to cook, which has been...humbling, to say the least. In my free time, I love being at home with Austin, spending time with our friends, (ask me how to play Nerts!), and reading.
Ask me about:
1. Middle School Ministry
I joined the FBC team in 2019 as a part of the Summer Impact Team, with an emphasis on children's ministry. I served again in the summer of 2020, and the following semester stepped into the role of youth intern. I work specifically with middle school boys, which always keeps me on my toes!
I will graduate from Murray State in the fall of 2021 with a degree in Graphic Communications Media. I love to cook, take naps, and eat ice cream.
