The student ministry at First Baptist is a place of growth, worship, discipleship, and fellowship. Our students live and learn alongside each other while diving into Scripture on Sundays and Wednesdays. If you are not already plugged in, we want you to be a part!

Weekly Events

Sunday School

9:45 am in the Family Life Center

Studying God's Word is perhaps the most important part of our ministry. We provide age and gender-specific groups to do this on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am in the Family Life Center. Each group is led by an experienced teacher and students are encouraged to share and ask questions openly.

LifeGroups

Sundays at 5:00 pm in host homes

Each Sunday at 5:00 pm students gather in host homes across the county based on their gender and age group. They each go through a Bible study led by two to three college students. This is one of the best times of the week  where significant life change happens.

Breakfast Club

Tuesdays at 6:45 am at various restaurants

Every other Tuesday at 6:45 am our students meet at a restaurant, cafe, or coffeeshop around Murray to meet, fellowship with, and encourage fellow believers before school begins. Our three locations are McDonald's, Murray Donuts, and Dunkin' Donuts.

First Academy

Wednesdays at 4:00 pm in the Family Life Center

First Academy is an after-school class designed for youth and college students to tackle hard questions and rich theological subjects. This gives students serious disciple tools necessary for feeding themselves spiritually. Light refreshments are served.

MidWeek

Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in the Family Life Center

Middle and high school worship take place every Wednesday night, and they each have their own unique structure. Our middle schoolers have combined worship with high schoolers from 6:00-6:30 pm in the FLC. Then, they split to listen to a sermon and discuss it in small groups.

Student Pastor

Contemporary Worship Leader

       Ask me about:

 1. Student Ministry

 2. Contemporary Worship

I've served God's church in various roles, including senior pastor, youth pastor, and worship pastor. I came to FBC in September of 2015 to serve as a student pastor and oversee all 6th-12th grade ministries.

I received a B.S. degree from Murray State in 2007 and I'm currently working on my MDIV seminary degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

I'm married to my beautiful wife and best friend, Jamie. The Lord has blessed us with four wonderful daughters (Halle, Anna Grace, Nora, and Layla). It's my goal at FBC to teach students on how to reach their peers for Christ.
