Meet the Staff
Will McKay
Senior Pastor
I came to FBC in October 2022 from the Arkansas Baptist Convention. I have served at Bellevue Baptist in Memphis and pastored at FBC in Monticello, Arkansas before serving at the convention.
I am a lifelong learner, having earned my undergraduate and master's degree from Union University and a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biblical Spirituality from SBTS.
My wife, Jennie, and I have been married for 18 years, and we have two sons, Liam and Sammy. Our family has a passion for missions, discipleship, and a deep love for the church.
Mike Rose
Worship Leader
I became interested in music while talking piano, voice, and cello lessons each week as my father studied music at Southern Seminary.
I have a music education degree from Austin Peay, a church music degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College, and a church music master's from Southern Seminary. Later in life, I felt a calling to public education and returned to school for a degree in curriculum and instruction. I am also certified as a principal in the state of Tennessee. I've also held church positions in Hopkinsville from 1981-1986 and Cadiz from 1986-2015. I joined FBC in June of 2016.
I live on Lake Barkley with my two dogs: Bullet and Phyllis.
Debbie Settle
Pastoral Care
Ministry Assistant
I came to FBC in 1972 as the pastor's secretary. Today, I currently serve in the area of pastoral care ministry and provide support for church ministries.
My husband, Bill, and I have three grown children, Jeremy (Nikki), Brian (Jennifer), and Catherine (James), and six grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with grandchildren and watching them play soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and cheer! I also enjoy singing in the Worship Choir here at FBC.
Megan Downey
Communications Director
I initially joined the FBC team in August 2019 as the youth ministry assistant. In the summers of 2018 and 2019, I served on FBC's Summer Impact Team, specifically interning with youth ministry. Today, I serve as the Communications Director at FBC.
I graduated from Murray State in the spring of 2017. I served at the BCM on Murray State's campus for 4 years. I love college students!
In my free time, you can catch me spending time with my fiancée, visiting my nephew, going to a concert, or being a homebody.
Tina Myers
Church Librarian
I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to serve as the librarian at FBC! I have developed a love for our library after working for several years as a volunteer on Sunday mornings and in the summer. I am amazed at all of the different kinds of books and other resources our library has to offer and look forward to sharing them with our church and community.
I am a graduate of Murray State University with degrees in elementary education and special education. I retired in May of 2020 from Marshall County Schools where I worked as a special education teacher at South Marshall Middle School.
My husband, Steve, and I live in Hazel with our two cats. We enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Tennessee Titans.
Boyd Smith
Pastor of Prayer and Care
I came to First Baptist Church as the minister to students and activities in 1994. After serving in this capacity for nearly 17 years, I became the pastor of prayer and care, a new position at FBC.
I spend much of my time at the hospital, nursing homes, retirement centers and the homes of the elderly in Murray. I know what it’s like to be sick, as I have experienced the healing touch of God as well. I believe in the power of prayer and I keep a prayer journal of the requests that people give me. My wife Wanda and I have been happily married for over 35 years.
Lori Morgan
Financial Secretary
Office Manager
I came to FBC in September 2014. I am responsible for maintaining all financial records of the church and ensuring that all regulatory financial requirements are performed properly. I am a stickler for details!
I have served previously at churches in Mayfield, KY, and Brentwood, TN. I'm married to Dirk and we have three children, Bryan (who is married to Rachel), Shelby, and Jonah. We also have two adorable grandchildren, Cason and Tevin.
I love music, especially in the church setting, and following Kentucky basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
Belinda Stevens
Facilities Manager
I joined the FBC staff in March of 2002 in a custodial position. In September 2014, I assumed a new position as facility manager. I love FBC and work to maintain the buildings and grounds.
I have two grown children, Josh and Kelsey, and four grandchildren. I love spending time with my family! You can catch me in Smithland watching a grandchild playing a ball game, in Birmingham visiting my daughter and grandkids, or at a Murray High band competition.
Lauren Dunlap
Mother's Day Out Director
I joined the church as the Mother’s Day Out director in 2017. I have 11 years of experience in the field of mental health counseling as a licensed clinical social worker. I love working with children and have specialized in birth to 5 years of age at my previous employer. I enjoy watching children grow and learn. I have seen the positive influence Mother’s Day Out has had on my own children. I welcome open two-way communication with parents to jointly celebrate parenting joys and tackle challenging struggles.
I am married to Zach and have two daughters, Emilia and Ruby. I also have one dog, Maye. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, reading, exercising, and spending time with my family and friends.
