At First Baptist Church our international student ministry is open to all international students attending Murray State University. We want to get to know you while giving you an opportunity to experience life in America, specifically in Murray, Kentucky. We know that being far away from home can be difficult at times and our desire is to be your "family away from family." Come check us out! We want to meet you!
What We Do
Each Sunday morning we meet together at First Baptist Church for a class where we'll study the Bible and learn about God, Jesus Christ, and what it means to be a Christian. We meet in Room 311 at 9:45 am for about 45 minutes. Grab a cup of coffee at the coffee bar in the Welcome Center and come join us!
Following the class, there is a worship service in our sanctuary on the first floor of the church. In America, a great way to get to know new friends is over a meal. Most Sundays after the worship service, the international students will be invited for a noon meal hosted by various members of First Baptist. You will have the opportunity to enjoy some great American home cooking and to make new friends. This is a FREE meal!
We also plan MANY activities during the school year to help international students experience American culture. There will be a Game Night, Hayride, Cookout, Retreat, and many other activities. Come join us for a good time!
Perhaps the most fun part about this ministry is all the friends you will make along the way. As you see in the pictures, being a part of our activities gives you an opportunity to meet new people from all over the world. You will find that they will quickly become your best friends.
