The Transitional Focus Team is hosting a Listen Up! Workshop on Sunday, July 13, 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. We will not have our usual worship service that Sunday evening. Pastor Henry will be leading us in a fun time of learning ten listening principles and five listening skills. You will appreciate the opportunity to use what you learn to listen more effectively to your spouse, children, grandchildren, church members, co-workers, and other family and friends. Call the church office to register for this special event so we can know how to set up the meeting room, provide child care, and have adequate refreshments.

June order forms are available and due in the church office by noon on
Monday, June 16.

Feeding
Your Mind
with Good Books
Do you find yourself threatening, repeating your instructions, or raising your voice in an attempt to get your children to obey? Are you discouraged because it seems you just can’t reach the heart of your child? Through personal experience and the practical application of Scripture, Ginger Plowman in her book, Don’t Make Me Count to Three, encourages and equips moms to reach past the outward behavior of their children and dive deeply into the issues of the heart. Ginger’s candid approach will help moms move beyond the frustrations of not knowing how to handle issues of disobedience and into a confident, well-balanced approach to raising their children. Check this book out in the FBC library.
Hey guys! It’s Brian! We are days away from Big Stuff Camp! It is going to be a great week! Make sure you are at the church Saturday morning around 7:30 to 7:40 a.m. so we can load up and be ready to depart at 8 a.m.
Thanks to the Snodgrass family for
allowing the youth to come over to swim after church Sunday. A good time
was had by all. Continue to keep the youth in your prayers as we travel.
There will be no Prime Time next Wednesday, July 2.
Grace and Peace.

“May the Lord bless you … that you will see … your children’s children” (Ps. 128:5-6, HCSB). “Children’s children are a crown to the aged” (Prov. 17:6, NIV). This week we are spending a few days with our son Chuck and his family in Alabama. Recently we have attended many activities with our son Craig and his family who live in Nashville. We enjoy the time with our six grandchildren to observe their rapid growth in so many dimensions of life. What a joy to see the next generation growing as God intended them to grow.
The Psalmist wrote: “I will declare wise sayings; I will speak mysteries from the past - things we have heard and known and that our fathers have passed down to us. We must not hide them from their children, but must tell a future generation the praises of the Lord, His might, and the wonderful works He has performed” (Ps. 78:2-4, HCSB).
Whether we are grandparents or not, we all have the privilege and responsibility to have a godly influence on succeeding generations. “I will sing about the Lord’s faithful love forever; with my mouth I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations.” (Ps. 89:1, HCSB)
I encourage you to participate in the
Listen Up! Workshop on Sunday, July 13. You will enjoy learning to
listen more
effectively to all generations.
Thanks to everyone who improved our facilities last Saturday.
Your pastor and friend in Christ,
Henry Webb

A note from Ms. Josie:
I just want to say that it was a blessing to go to Crosspoint Camp.
This was a new experience for me and it was a great surprise. The
staff at camp made sure that the kids were having fun and focusing on
Jesus’ love all week. At each event scripture and how God should be in
every part of our lives was the theme. I know a couple of the students
have come forward with decisions they made while at camp but I am sure
that camp has left an impact on all of us that attended. Thank you for
supporting such an event.
My thanks to Amy Brown, Pamela Seward and Larry Seward who supplied for Lucretia and me last Sunday, June 22, while we were in MO for her niece’s wedding.
Patriotic Music Celebration-June 29 - 10:55 a.m.

The service will include: the Processional of the Army Color Guard from Murray State University; the pledges to the American Flag with “The Star-Spangled Banner”; the Christian Flag with “Onward, Christian Soldiers” and the Bible with “Holy Bible, Book Divine”; “Salute to the Armed Forces” (medley of the songs of the 5 Branches of the Armed Forces; Solo- “I’m Just a Flag-Waving American” –Kent Jackson (a stirring tribute to our flag with some flag-waving included); “God Bless America” (everyone will sing this all-time favorite); “Thankful to Be an American” (medley of nine songs that the congregation will sing along with the choir); “I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb” (song that declares our ultimate allegiance to our Lord). Everyone attending this service will be given a small American Flag to wave during the service. How about everyone wearing patriotic clothing? Brother Henry will also be bringing a timely message.
